Your Parents Did Their Job; Are you Doing Yours? 6-23-11

"Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands", Anne Frank

Young Anne hit the nail on the proverbial head. Long before we had Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins or other personal development coaches you could have taken Anne's comment and made an entire career out of it! Simply put YOU are responsible for your character which in turn controls what kind of future you will have. The only thing our parents (or whoever raised you) can do is tell you right from wrong, and feed you 3 times a day (yes I am oversimplifying a bit). A little bit like jail but with a lot more love! Although you did have lights-out times, punishments and sometimes mom would come in and toss your cell! Here is my point. How far have you come since you left home and left your parents tutelage? Whatever character YOU have developed since you left home has gotten you to your current destination in life. Are you happy; is this where you want to be? Some have accepted mediocrity- as if it was a burden they had no control over and say, this is as good I am going to get! If that is your answer you are NOT controlling your future but in fact you are like a rudderless ship and every wave of a person controls you by tossing you around and you NEVER get to your destination or goals! Sadly, Anne Frank died when she was only 15. 15, yet she inspires the world to this very day! She had not yet finished her training as a child and most assuredly would not have let it finish with her reaching adulthood. What about you? Are you content with the training you have received (as a child) and think there is no more room for you to grow? Do not be sorely mistaken because life is ALWAYS full of learning opportunities and possibilities to be better. But it LIES in your own HANDS! You can throw it away or embrace it. Its your choice.

Take time out today to asses where you are doing well but also where you KNOW you need to improve and then plan on how you can get there! If you are having trouble-email me, I can help. My mother always taught me to help where I can and my training is far from over in life! So If I can help you, let me!

Have a great day and a better tomorrow!
